![]() The optimisation for Apple silicon-based Macs and the integration with Voice Control will provide a better user experience and make the app more accessible for everyone when the final release arrives. Overall, for Mac users at least, the new WhatsApp Mac public beta with native Apple Silicon support is an exciting development. Meanwhile, when it comes to Windows computers the WhatsApp application does not play well with Microsoft’s Dragon voice dictation software with users struggling to dictate into the WhatsApp text box on Windows PCs. WhatsApp is expanding testing ahead of an official release, and users can download the beta version of the app from the WhatsApp website. It’s worth noting that this is still a beta version of the app, and some features may not work as expected, including when using Voice Control, although in Aestumanda testing the application works perfectly with the dictation app. With this update, WhatsApp for Mac is now compatible with Voice Control, which should make it more accessible for everyone when the final version is released. The previous version of the WhatsApp, which ran on Rosetta 2, had issues with Voice Control, and users were unable to dictate messages. This feature allows users to dictate messages into the WhatsApp text box, providing a more accessible way of communicating for those with disabilities. This optimisation is possible because the app is now a Universal binary, meaning it is built specifically for Apple’s new processors.Īnother major change in this update is the integration with Apple’s Voice Control accessibility application. Esto no ocurría con WhatsApp Beta, una versión totalmente nativa y optimizada que también se encuentra en la Microsoft Store y que consume bastantes menos recursos del sistema. Following a lengthy beta testing period, the native Mac app is now available to download from and will soon be released on the Mac App Store. The app can now run faster and use fewer resources on machines with the M1, M1 Pro, M1 Max, M1 Ultra, M2, M2 Pro, and M2 Max chips. One of the most significant changes in this update is the optimisation for Apple silicon-based Macs. This beta version is a significant upgrade from the previous version as it brings several new features and improvements, including accessibility enhancements. ![]() USE THE SOFTWARE AT YOUR OWN RISK AND DON'T USE IT ON ANY IMPORTANT DATA.WhatsApp has been working on an updated Mac app that features native Apple silicon support, and a beta version of the app is now available to all WhatsApp users. But if you purchased Cheetah3D 7.x after Jan. I made no decision about the final price of Cheetah3D 8 yet. You just need a valid Cheetah3D 7.x registration number to use the Cheetah3D 8.0 Public Beta. So there is no system requirements explosion. I'm also pretty happy how small the file size of v8 turned out. The good thing is that I managed to support a pretty wide range of Macs. Unluckily I don't have a detailed change log for this version since the changes were that excessive that I lost oversight in the middle of its development. Native support for Macs with Apple Silicon (M1, M2) Especially the shaders are pretty rough and there are also some performance optimisations which I still want to implement.ĭue to the massive changes in Cheetah3D this Beta version might be rougher than my usual Beta version. ![]() This Beta version is not feature complete yet. My intention to support small-breasted integrated Intel GPUs (which are used in tens of millions of MacMinis and MacBook Airs) didn't make things easier. ![]() So I had to spend a lot of time searching for wired work arounds. It looks like Apple didn't have developers of 3D animation apps on their radar when they created Metal. While the port to Apple Silicon was quite easy the port from OpenGL to Metal turned out to be a true nightmare. And that was actually the only goal of v8, to bring Cheetah3D safely on the other side of the river (Apple Silicon and Metal). Nevertheless I think that I've finally reached the point were v8 is better than v7. Unluckily that was unavoidable due to a myriad of reasons. I'm truly sorry that the native Apple Silicon and Metal version took so long.
